Chemical Properties
Soluble in mineral acids and produces hydrogen sulphide gas.
Derivation:
Derived By Chemical Reaction Of Iron And Sulphur
Toxicology : Non-Hazardous
Personal Protection: Do Not Breathe Dust
Why to Use
Ferrous Sulphide?
Elemental Sulphur has very low melting point and its tendency to float on
the surface of molten metal results the release of Sulphur di Oxide, an
undesirable gas which pollutes the working environment. Moreover, low
melting eutectic brittle compounds form along the grain boundaries and
mechanical properties are deteriorated.
